GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans are rallying around embattled Gov. Scott Walker at their annual convention.
Saturday's convention comes a little more than three weeks before Walker stands for recall on June 5 against Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
The Walker recall was the focus of most Republican office holders who addressed roughly 1,000 people at the meeting, with the presidential race close behind.
U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan calls June 5 the "day we save Wisconsin" and the presidential election on Nov. 6 is "the day Wisconsin saves America."
U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner says the Walker recall was the second most important election of the year, and a victory would help provide momentum for Mitt Romney to carry Wisconsin in the presidential election five months later.
