WILLARD, Ohio (AP) — Family and friends of an Ohio solider who killed himself in Iraq two months ago are hoping to get some answers about his death during a military hearing to start Friday.

Military investigators say 19-year-old Keiffer Wilhelm of Willard had been a target of four soldiers who were mistreating a few men in their platoon.

Two of the soldiers charged with cruelty and maltreatment are supposed to appear at the Friday hearing in Iraq.

Investigators say the alleged misconduct didn't cause Wilhelm's death, but little information has been released about why Wilhelm committed suicide 10 days after joined his new unit in Iraq.

Those who knew Wilhelm say what happened doesn't fit with the young man who grew up in a military family and wanted to please everyone.
