CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) — One person is dead and nine others injured after authorities say a pickup truck going the wrong way on an Arizona freeway struck a charter bus head-on.

The pickup truck burst into flames and the driver was declared dead at the scene of the Tuesday afternoon's crash on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande. That's about 50 miles south of Phoenix.

Authorities have identified the pickup driver as 78-year-old Francis Wilkens Gibson Jr., of Casa Grande.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the TBC Conexion bus was travelling from Mexico to Phoenix with 16 people aboard, including the driver.

Authorities say nine passengers were injured, but none of the injuries is considered life-threatening.
