OBAMA: ROAD TO CHARLOTTE (SAT) - The AP takes a look at Obama's past four years, from the last time he stood on the stage accepting the nomination until today. Points of impact will include healthcare, bin Laden and the acknowledgement that he was not successful at changing Washington.

ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA (SUN) - With 15 electoral votes, North Carolina is going to be a tough win for Obama. In 2008, he won the state by only 15,000 votes. The state is important enough for Democrats to have chosen to have their convention there. North Carolina also has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION (SAT/SUN/MON) - The DNC in Charlotte, North Carolina officially starts on Tuesday. Over the weekend, our crews will focus on delegate arrivals, last minute preparations in and around the convention site and local interviews.

Planning On Covering

(SAT) President Obama will be campaigning in Iowa. Republican candidate Mitt Romney will start the day off in Ohio, and then meet up with his running mate Paul Ryan in Jacksonville, Fla.

(SUN) President Obama travels to Colorado for campaign events and Vice President Joe Biden will be in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

(MON) President Obama begins the day with campaign events in Ohio and returns to Washington, D.C. in the evening.

CLINTON (SAT/SUN/MON) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues her six-nation Asia tour through the weekend.

ISSAC AFTERMATH (SAT/SUN/MON) - Remnants from Hurricane Isaac will make their way north, bringing stormy weather to various parts of the country.

PA, PENN STATE'S SEASON OPENER (SAT) - After a very controversial year and a winning record that was erased from the books, Penn State football makes a fresh start in its season opener against Ohio University.

POLAND: HISTORIC FIND IN WORLD WAR II JEWISH GHETTO (SAT) - A treasure trove of old photographic negatives from 1919-1936 have been found in a house bordering a former Jewish ghetto in the Polish town of Lublin. The processed photographs reveal a fascinating period of history, shedding light on the lives and work of the residents from nearly a century ago.

RUSSIA: YOUNG ATHLETES DREAMING OF GOLD IN RIO (SAT) - As the London 2012 Paralympics gets underway, a new generation of athletes in Moscow is practicing hard in the hope of Olympic glory in Rio 2016.

HONG KONG PROTEST (SAT) - Thousands of parents, teachers and students rally to protest government plans to make patriotic education compulsory at primary and secondary schools.

DISPUTED ASIAN ISLANDS (SAT/SUN) - Tokyo Metropolitan Government officials sail to the water near the disputed islands, claimed by Japan, China and Taiwan, for 'research.' Earlier this year, Tokyo governor, Shintaro Ishihara, said that the city had decided to buy the islands to bolster Japan's claim.

VENICE FILM FESTIVAL (SAT/SUN/MON) - The Venice International Film Festival continues through the weekend.

CHINA: YOUNGSTERS LEARN PEKING (SUN) - China's traditional Peking Opera is gaining popularity with little kids in Beijing. Some one hundred kids join in a summer camp to learn how to perform the traditional Peking Opera, as part of programs to promote the declining ancient art.

ARGENTINA EMERGENCY ALARMS TO PREVENT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (SUN) - Victims of gender abuse in a city in Argentina are being given attack alarms to combat a rise in violence against women. The DAMA project, which is the first of its kind in Latin America, combines security technology with healthcare provision in the hope of providing a way of escaping domestic brutality.

FRANCE THEME PARK HAS 4D EXPERIENCE (SUN) - A 4D experience is boosting visitor numbers at one of Europe's largest theme parks. Futuroscope in Poitiers is showing the film Arthur 4D by celebrated director Luc Besson, promising a realistic and immersive cinema experience.

UK HACKING (MON) - Former News International editor, Rebekah Brooks, appears in court over phone hacking allegations.

UK OLYMPIC GOLD AND LONDON ICONS AUCTION (MON) - Memorabilia from the 1908 and 1948 Olympic games held in London are being auctioned off today along with some famous landmarks from the British capital.
