NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say they have found human remains in the backyard of a southern Indiana man who is a suspect in the deaths of two women.
Police found the remains Friday night at the New Albany home of 54-year-old William "Clyde" Gibson III, and believe they are of a third victim.
Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson has said Gibson was being held as a suspect in last week's death of a 75-year-old Clarksville woman and the 2002 death of a 44-year-old Jeffersonville woman. A jail officer says formal charges haven't been filed.
The News and Tribune of Jeffersonville reports the discovery came hours after officials called off a search of the Ohio River, where they had been looking for a 35-year-old Charlestown woman who disappeared in March.
