BOISE -- A Boise man is in the Ada County Jail after police say he mailed a fake bomb to Gowen Field.
On Saturday, a mail handler at the National Guard base in Boise received a suspicious device, initially thought to be a bomb, and letter from 39-year-old David Hamby.
Military personnel later determined that the device was not dangerous.
Then on Sunday, police say Hamby showed up at a Gowen Field gate, and demanded to speak with someone at the base. Police were called because of what they described as Hamby's history of making threatening comments to base employees.
Hamby was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but refused to cooperate with officers and hospital staff, police said.
Officers tased Hamby and arrested him on a felony charge of hoax destructive device and misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing officers.
