BOISE -- Lottery fever is spreading across the nation in anticipation two huge jackpots for the Powerball and Mega Millions.

Idaho Lottery officials say the jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing currently stands at $170 million, while the jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball game is a staggering $350 million.

Those huge jackpots are creating a lot of excitement.  Sales of tickets for both games in Idaho have increase by 35 percent over the past week.

Lottery officials are urging people to play responsibly.

“Having two big jackpots at the same time for over half-a-billion dollars is bringing a lot of excitement right now to the Gem State,” said Idaho Lottery Director Jeff Anderson.  “We remind everyone who plays this week to play within their means. It does only take one ticket to win. Play what you can afford, don’t go overboard.”

This marks the first time the combined jackpots of Mega Millions and Powerball have exceeded $500 million.

At $350 million, this is the third largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history.
