BOISE -- Over 100 schools competed Thursday, to win thousands of dollars from the Idaho lottery.

For five minutes, participants scratched furiously to raise money for their school.

And Idaho Lottery is paying out big, more than $17,000 scratched off, which is the largest amount ever in one of these scratch events.

Thursday's big winner was Sage International Middle School in Boise with $557.
