PORTLAND -- None of the three jackpot-winning tickets was sold in the Northwest for Wednesday's Powerball drawing, but a $1 million ticket was sold in Portland, lottery officials said.
Two ticketholders in New Jersey and one in Minnesota will split the $448 million jackpot. Someone in Portland matched all numbers except the Powerball to win the $1 million prize.
A week earlier, another Portland ticketholder matched all but the Powerball and added the Power Play option to double the prize to $2 million. The two winners had not claimed their prizes as of Thursday afternoon.
"In addition to those winners, from last night’s drawing alone there were over 37,000 winning tickets in Oregon," said Oregon Lottery spokesman Chuck Baumann. "Ranging from that $1 million prize down to $4, last night’s Oregon Lottery Powerball players won $1.2 million in prizes."
The Powerball jackpot was reset to $40 million for Saturday's drawing.
