NAMPA -- Local aerobatic pilot Greg Poe will be dazzling crowds this Saturday at the first ever “Flight for Meth” in Nampa.

"This is the Fagen MX-2, it’s a seven-month-old plane, it is the most technologically advanced aerobatic plane in the world right now.  It is made of light weight carbon fiber material and is powered by ethanol fuel," said Poe.

To get a sneak peek of what the public will be seeing Poe took NewsChannel 7 up for a few maneuvers.  He is passionate about two things – flying and the fight against drugs.

"The problem (meth) is probably more severe than most people realize.  It affects far more people than you think, you can't sit idly by and just let it happen.  All of us need open our eyes and get real about this and do what we can to educate people and get young people through these tough times," said Poe.

During our flight he took it easy, but will he push the plane to the limit come Saturday.

"It's unique that we get to do an air show like this in Nampa, most of the flying I do is outside of Idaho, so it’s always fun for me to come home and perform in these airplanes," said Poe.

Gates at the Nampa Airport open Saturday at 4 p.m. and flying begins at 6 p.m.  A $5 donation is suggested.

Along with the aerobatic display will be a mock Formula One air race, a patriotic sky-dive, numerous planes on display alongside food and raffles.
