KETCHUM -- Idaho's Sun Valley ski resort has dropped from Ski Magazine's ranks of Top 10 resorts.
In the magazine's October issue, Ketchum-based Sun Valley slipped to No. 11 after claiming the No. 10 spot the last three years.
The annual poll of North America's top ski resorts is based on a reader survey.
Respondents are asked to consider categories such as snow quality, grooming, terrain, value, lift lines, food, access, lodging and after-skiing activities.
According to results, Sun Valley earned praise for its food, service and short lift lines. But the resort lost points for its remote location.
The magazine says Sun Valley's remote location and tricky access either by automobile and airplane is both a blessing and a curse.
