Magic Valley air show reports debt

TWIN FALLS -- Organizers of a Magic Valley air show say they will turn to taxpayers to make up more than $21,000 in debt incurred during the two-day event.
That financial report falls well short of the more than $300,000 profit officials expected to generate during the Air Magic Valley Air Show in July.
Revenues for the show, held at Joslin Field in Twin Falls, totaled about $445,000, but expenses came in at $466,000.
Those figures were provided Monday by officials from Twin Falls city and county officials.
The city and county share ownership of the airport and partnered in the show's production.
Officials attribute the loss to low crowd turnout, handing out too many free passes and expenses that were higher than anticipated.
Still, some officials say the show's contribution to the community and local economy outweigh the financial setback.
