Larry Craig to conduct interview with KTVB
04:42 PM MDT on Thursday, October 11, 2007
BOISE - The KTVB News Group will conduct the first interview with embattled Idaho Sen. Larry Craig next week. NBC News has also secured the first network interview with Craig.
The interviews are set to take place Tuesday, and will air on KTVB that evening, with the local interview by Mark Johnson during a KTVB News Special at 6:00pm, and the national interview with Matt Lauer set for 7:00pm.
The programs will both feature an extended sit-down with Craig, as well as his wife Suzanne, as they speak publicly for the first time about the events of the last four months.
Craig pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct for events in a men's room in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport in June. He later announced his intent to resign from the US Senate, but reversed that decision and did not vacate his seat.
The entire Mark Johnson interview will be made available on KTVB.COM in text and video. Excerpts of the local interview will be featured Tuesday on News at Ten and Wednesday during Today's Morning News and other broadcasts.
Excerpts of the Matt Lauer interview will be featured Wednesday morning on Today, which telecasts at 7:00am on KTVB.
