The body of Dale Miller was found inside this yellow barrel in the garage of a Twin Falls home on Sept. 12, 2007.

TWIN FALLS -- A man scheduled to go on trial later this month for the killing of a Twin Falls teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs says Cameron Watts, 31, has admitted his role in the death of 18-year-old Dale Miller. Miller's body was found inside a barrel on Sept. 12, 2007, in a garage at an apartment at 322 Morningside Drive in Twin Falls.

Watts made the admission of guilt during a court hearing Tuesday afternoon.

Loebs says prosecutors will recommend a life sentence for Watts, with no possibility of parole for 20 years. His sentencing is set for Dec. 12.

Loebs says Watts admitted he helped John McElhiney tie up Miller and put him in a car trunk. They came back the next day and found Miller dead. Watts testified that Miller owed money to McElhiney and that was the motive behind the crime. They later put the body in a barrel to dispose of it.

Elhiney also entered a guilt plea to killing Watts, but is now asking a judge to withdraw his plea.  He now has a new attorney to represent him. Loebs says the judge followed the letter of the law and does not believe the withdrawal request has merit.
