Ada County Sheriff's deputies have confirmed that a teenage boy has died while climbing rocks near Lake Halverson along the Snake River.

BOISE -- Ada County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a teenager who fells from some rocks this afternoon near Halverson Lake south of Melba.

The deceased boy is believed to have been in his late teens.

The lake is along the Snake River east of Celebration Park.

Officers say it appears the boy fell while trying to climb up an embankment.

One witness told NewsChannel that another teen who was with the boy was covered in blood when he alerted a family to call for help. He ran four miles to seek help.

Foul play is not suspected. Detectives are on the scene investigating what happened.

The boy's name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
