REXBURG -- Five eastern Idaho teens were arrested by police investigating a weekend vandalism and theft spree that destroyed as many as 30 mailboxes.

The youngsters were aged 15 to 17 and their names weren't released.

Law officers in Fremont and Madison counties say all five of the boys helped in stealing a motorcycle, which they then started to disassemble and repaint.

Authorities say three of the teenagers were involved in smashing 20 to 30 mailboxes in Madison and Fremont Counties, and two of the boys stole a table and chairs from a fast food restaurant in Rexburg.

Detective Mike Courtney of the Madison County Sheriff's Office says the teenagers repaired some of the mailboxes they damaged earlier this week.
