CALDWELL - Idaho State Police responded to three car crashes along Interstate 84 Sunday.
One accident claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter.
Traffic backed up near Caldwell Sunday at about 9 a.m. as police responded to slide-offs and collisions due to slick roads and fog.
Idaho State Police responded to a one-car rollover eastbound on the interstate.
Jose Tinoco, 41, of Ontario, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban and lost control due to ice. The car went into the median and rolled.
Georgina Tinoco, 18, and her five-month-old, Aubre Garcia, from Ontario, were ejected and died at the scene.
A total of seven people were in the car.
Five people including the driver were taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
Troopers are not sure if the people riding in the Suburban were wearing seatbelts.
The crash is still under investigation.
