COEUR D'ALENE -- Kootenai County Prosecutors have rested their case in a trial of two men accused in the death of a child stemming from a fatal drag racing collision two years ago.
Dominick Salois, 21, and Daniel Cutting, 20, are charged with vehicular manslaughter in the Oct. 13, 2006, crash that killed 14-year-old Isaac Norris and severely injured his mother, Glenda Norris.
During testimony Friday, Cutting's ex-girlfriend told the jury that Cutting and Salois acknowledged each other and then revved their engines moments before speeding down a Coeur d'Alene street.
Prosecutors say the two men were going well over the posted 35 mph speed limit before crashing into Norris' car.
If convicted, Salois and Cutting each face a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Defense attorneys are expected to call witness for several days next week.
