10:39 AM MST on Wednesday, November 2, 2005
NAMPA -- A Nampa company has created three banners that will be part of
Rosa Parks' funeral today in Detroit.
Parks was the civil rights pioneer who was arrested after she refused to
give up her seat on a public bus to a white man in 1955.
She died at the age of 92 last week.
Thousands of people have been waiting in long lines in Detroit to honor
Parks at her funeral there today.
Civil rights leaders, dignitaries, and politicians are among the 4,000
people expected to attend the funeral.
Also present will be three banners made by Erica Kafka, who owns
Memorial Reflections in Nampa.
The three commemorative banners made by her company will stand next to
Parks' casket.
