Payette man dies in motorcycle accident on Highway 95

The holiday weekend got off to a fatal start Saturday on Idaho roads. Idaho State Police report the death of a Payette man along Highway 95, south of Fruitland.
Troopers say 69-year-old Emery Spangler of Fruitland was southbound in his GMC pickup and began to make a left turn. Dallas Chillquist, 54, of Payette, was northbound on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when Spangler's truck struck him. Chillquist was thrown from his bike.
He was taken by Life Flight to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he later died.
Ronald Beeman, 62, of Ahsahka, Idaho, was trapped in the GMC pickup. Beeman was transported to Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon. His condition is unknown.
Spangler did not suffer any injuries.
Chillquist was not wearing a helmet.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Police have not determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
