NAMPA -- A man leads police on a chase, and then gets away on foot, leaving officers searching for him throughout the afternoon, until he was eventually captured.

Armed officers dressed in bulletproof vests and carrying guns surrounded a Nampa home looking for their suspect.

Three-and-a-half hours after the search started, the suspect was found hiding in the back of an old bus, tucked away in a luggage unit.

That suspect is Kevin Spitznogle.  He was wanted for a probation violation, but with today’s most recent run in with the law, Spitznogle now faces eluding police and possession of a controlled substance.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office had been looking for their suspect for some time, when a deputy spotted Spitznogle driving his white mini-van.  Officers followed him, and he led them on a small chase before pulling into this home.

Spitznogle was able to get away for a little while.

A handful of officers looked for Spitznogle, while others searched his belongings.  Inside the van he was driving, police found several syringes filled with methamphetamine.

“He pulled into this residence, and ran into the back, it’s unknown if he knows the owner of the house or how that came about, we will be towing his car from here when we do leave," said Lt. Daren Ward.

At one point officers believed Spitznogle had gotten away.  They had police dogs searching the outlining fields, but found him in the bus.
