Police identify suspect in Boise motorhome chase

BOISE -- Boise Police say a warrant has been issued for a man suspected of leading officers on a chase in a Dodge motorhome Tuesday night.
Police are asking for the public's help is finding 52-year-old Danny J. Welch of Boise.
Welch is believed to be the man who failed to stop after police tried to pull him over around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
He then led officers on a chase through several Boise neighborhoods near Broadway Avenue.
At one point during the pursuit, the driver of the motorhome sped up to 50 mph, ran several stop signs and nearly hit an officer trying to put down spike strips.
Officers called off the pursuit because of public safety concerns, but later found the motorhome in the front yard of a home on Schmeizer Street.
Welch faces charges of felony aggravated assault and felony eluding a police officer.
Anyone with information about him is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
