Average cost of premium gas hits $4 for first time

BOISE - The long, painful trend of amped up gas prices continues – and for the first time, the average price of a gallon of premium gas has vaulted over the $4 mark.
The Oil Price Information Service reports the average in the Boise metro area for a single gallon of premium gasoline stands at $4.014 – that’s up slightly from the day before.
The price of a regular gallon of gas is over the $3.70 mark for the first time, up nearly three cents from the day before.
The same time last year – prices significantly lower – with a regular gallon fetching $3.164 on average.
The lowest price recorded in Boise by OPIS is at the Sinclair station on Overland Rd. in Boise – which is asking $3.629 per gallon.
In Nampa, several stations are selling a gallon for $3.659 – including the Mirastar stations on Cleveland and Greenhurst, and the Sinclair stations on 3rd St. and Garrity.
