BOISE -- Boise Police are still looking for the person who led them on low speed chase last night in a motorhome.
Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a Dodge motorhome at 10:30 p.m. after the driver failed to stay in his lane at the corner of Commerce and Development near Interstate 84.
The officer turned on his emergency lights but the driver did not stop, and he continue northbound on Broadway Avenue at a speed of around 35 miles per hour.
Police put down a spike strip near Linden Street, but the driver swerved to avoid it, and narrowly missed the officer.
The motorhome then turned east onto Linden Street and then onto Leadville. The driver then sped up to 50 mph and ran several stops signs. At that point, police decided to call off the pursuit for safety reasons.
A few minutes later, the motorhome was found stuck the front yard of a home in the 200 block of Schmeizer Street. Police searched for the driver, but did not locate the suspect.
Police are working to identify the man who abandoned the motorhome, which has been impounded. It was not reported stolen, according to police.
The suspect may face numerous criminal charges, including felony eluding and felony aggravated assault on a police officer.
Anyone with more information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
