Two California men charged with Meridian homicide

Stanley Hahn, 44, and John Joseph Green, 28, of Bakersfield, Calif., have been charged with the murder of Douglas Halpin of Meridian.

BOISE -- Ada County prosecutors have charged two Bakersfield, California men with the murder of a Meridian man.

Douglas Halpin, 44, was found bound and beaten to death at a home at 2561 West Snyder in Meridian on April 6, 2008.

Stanley Hahn, 44, and John Joseph Green, 28, were formally charged with first-degree murder in a Boise courtroom this morning. The two men also face second-degree kidnapping charges.

They are accused of helping Karen Miller, 41, kill her boyfriend. She is charged with second-degree and accessory to a felony. She is due back in court on Wednesday.

Last month, Hahn and Green were brought to Ada County from Bakersfield, California, to face charges in the killing of Douglas Halpin.

Court documents in this case have been sealed but we were able to obtain some new information.

Those documents tells us that Hahn and Green killed Douglas Halpin on April 5th while attempting to kidnap him, beating him in the head and tying him up - causing him to asphyxiate and die.

Hahn and Green are being held without bond in Ada County Jail.

Their case will be reviewed again at the end of this month.

Meridian Police are continuing their investigation and have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests in this case.
