Vandals break into south Boise elementary school
06:06 PM MDT on Saturday, May 10, 2008
BOISE--Police are searching for at least two people that broke into a South Boise elementary school early Saturday morning. The principal of Desert Sage Elementary School says the break-in included some damage to the school.
Prinicipal Marty Murphy says he was notified around three o'clock Saturday morning that his school had been broken into. It is believed the intruders got into the school through the vent on the roof. They were able to climb through the vents but eventually fell 15 feet to the ground triggering the alarm. From there the intruders sprayed fire extinguishers throughout the hallways.
"On Monday, I know the kids are going to know something about it, but we will just let them know that things have been taken care of, and it's a safe place to be, and they don't have to worry," said Marty Murphy, Principal, Desert Sage Elementary.
Principal Murphy says everything was cleaned up and back to normal by noon today. He credits that to great maintenance with the district.
