Two bodies were found in this Twin Falls trailer home after neighbors detected a strange smell coming from the home.
TWIN FALLS - Twin Falls Police officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding two bodies found in an Idaho senior community - while neighbors try to cope with the news.
Late last week officers were called to the Lazy J Mobile Home Park in Twin Falls after neighbors suspected something might be wrong.
When they arrived - they say they found two bodies inside a home.
The people that live in Lazy J describe their community as quiet and relaxed - but this weekend it's been exactly the opposite, with a flurry of activity all surrounding two suspicious deaths.
Neighbors say they became suspicious late last week.
"Our son comes in to visit and a couple of days ago he smelled a real bad smell over in that area,” neighbor Robert G. Brackette said. “He walked over in that area and had a conversation with somebody else and he could smell a bad odor coming from that place.”
On Friday police came to the home and discovered the source of that smell - two people found dead inside.
An investigation started immediately and continued through the weekend.
The Twin Falls Police Department says autopsies were conducted – but the identity of the two victims has not been confirmed – or how they died.
Neighbors say they haven't seen the man who lives in the home where the bodies were found in months
The area surrounding the home remains roped off and monitored by an officer.
Residents here are trying to resume their relaxed lifestyle - in the midst of a very unnerving event.
"I'll make sure my doors are locked,” neighbor Eathel Corbin said. ”I feel safe, I figure that I'm 81 years old and I've lived this long and bee through a lot in my lifetime. I figure that I can get through this ok. It just makes you feel a little apprehensive."
More information on this investigation is expected to be released Monday.
