CableOne takes blame for basketball glitch

BOISE - CableOne has taken responsibility for a glitch that left thousands unable to watch the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Thursday.
CableOne general manager Celynda Roach said that an equipment malfunction caused local CBS affiliate KBCI-TV’s signal to flash around 7 p.m., making the game difficult to follow.
Technical staffers were called in to locate the problem – and had a fix in place by 8 p.m., according to CableOne.
“This is the worst kind of technical problem for our viewers, and I apologize for the disruption of last night’s game,” Roach said.
Portions of the Duke-Virginia Commonwealth game and Gonzaga-Indiana contest were interrupted.
Viewers who watched the games on satellite or over-the-air were not affected. KBCI encouraged cable viewers to pull out a set of rabbit ears during the outage.
A KBCI spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
