Maria Shirley Luna, 18, is being held on burglary charges.

Police said that someone had stolen beer from the store before firing a gun at the store's clerk.

Two 15-year-olds and 18-year-old Maria Luna are being held on burglary charges Sunday evening.

The incident occurred just after 1 a.m. Sunday at the Baird Oil Convenience store on Simplot Road, and didn't end until seven hours later in a Caldwell home.

Officer spent hours surrounding the Caldwell home before they were able to get inside.

Police said they questioned 18 people about the incident, and found the gun used in the shooting.

April Hubbard was the 24-year-old clerk working the overnight shift.

"I was ringing people, doing my job. Three kids come in and went to the chips and the other by the beer, and I had a feeling that they were going to steal the beer," Hubbard said.

The three people fled with $70 worth of beer.

Hubbard said she followed them to get a vehicle description. Police said someone - inside the vehicle - fired a shot at her.

Police used the store surveillance camera to track down a minivan parked at a Blaine Street home.

Police said they attempted to make contact with those in the house, but no one responded or came out of the home.

Officers entered after sending a flash bang grenade through the window of the house.

Monday afternoon, police arrest a 16-year-old boy who they believe fired the gun. His name has not been released because he is a juvenile.

Those inside the home, who are not suspects in the robbery, could face charges as well.
