MCCALL -- State officials plan to upgrade Ponderosa State Park -- land
that's on a one-thousand acre peninsula at Payette Lake.
It's a popular retreat for large groups in the summer and cross-country
skiers in the winter. And park officials say they can't keep up with the
increasing demand for group accommodations.
Dennis Coyle is the park's manager. He says it's a popular weekend
destination for the Boise-area, particularly with church groups and
large family reunions.
The upgrade will allow a retreat center and some cabins to be used
year-round.
