BOISE - Ramiro Guzman of Meridian is the proud new owner of the Saint Jude Dream Home in Star.

Officials say 7,777 tickets were sold over the past few months, raising $777,700 for St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. 

When St. Jude organizer Lindsay Houseal called Guzman to tell him he won, he didn't believe it - and said he thought it was some sort of joke. Guzman forgot he had entered the drawing - and was one of the first 700 people to buy a ticket.

Guzman told Houseal that the new home is a blessing for himself, his wife and their kids.

Guzman will be given the keys to the $400,000 home in Star’s Yellowstone community.

In typical Treasure Valley style, residents came out in force to help raise funds for the hospital.

Twelve-hundred tickets were sold during a two hour live broadcast on KTVB Sunday night. Organizers say that is the most tickets ever sold during any St. Jude live event across the country.

Houseal said the the 7,777 tickets are the most ever sold for a Boise event - and is a lot for a city this size.
