Thomas Dunbrasky, 54, is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under 16.
PAYETTE – A Fruitland firefighter sits in the Payette County Jail today after deputies say he sexually abused a minor on two separate occasions.
Payette County Sheriff’s detectives arrested 54-year-old Thomas Dunbrasky Tuesday and booked him on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 16.
Investigators say Dunbrasky had inappropriate contact with the 10-year-old victim.
During a forensic interview, the victim told police the abuse happened between April 2006 and April 2007.
Dunbrasky was taken into custody without incident Tuesday. He works for the Fruitland Fire Department.
Detective Randy Cosner says in the past two years he's seen more reports of abuse.
"It’s getting reported to us more and more of sexual contact that's happened years in the past. So people are coming out and reporting abuse and bringing it to us," said Cosner.
Dunbrasky is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The Payatte County prosecutor says Dunbrasky was arraigned today and formally charged. No plea was entered in court. His preliminary hearing is set for July 7th.
