BOISE - Two Boise DJs pulled an all-nighter for a good cause.
Pete Stauffer and Joe Webber with J-105 decided to help raise awareness for prostate cancer, in connection with this weeks Main Street Mile event. The pair extended their usual 4 hour morning show into a 28-hour marathon.
The pair put together a lineup of guests that includes Governor Butch Otter, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter – and Billy Mays with Oxi-Clean.
The 28-hour radiothon, and the Main Street Mile aim to increase the number and frequency of prostate cancer exams in the Treasure Valley.
"As soon as you see the Main Street Mile and see how fun it is, and understand that one in six men get prostate cancer, it's a great cause and nobody loses - it's a win-win all around."
The radiothon started at 6 a.m. Monday and wraps up at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Main Street Mile is this Friday in downtown Boise. Prostate Cancer screenings are offered free at a variety of locations - details here.
