05:45 PM MDT on Sunday, June 22, 2008
MERIDIAN - A fire in Meridian destroyed thousands of dollars worth of one family's belongings.
It happened at Locust Grove and Time Zone Sundy afternoon. The trailer contained recreation equipment and motorcycles and is a total loss. The family had just wrapped up a weekend of camping and motorcycle riding near Idaho City
“He rode earlier today and packed the bikes inside the trailer and he also had some gas stored next to the bikes and we have a feeling that probably started it and as he was pulling around the corner here he noticed a big pop and pulled over and realized he was on fire,” Meridian Fire Captain Nick Corral said.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Fire crews say it completely engulfed the trailer- that is considered a complete loss.
Fire crews are not sure about the amount of damage- but say it is estimated in the thousands.
