A van crashed into this empty building in Meridian. Police say the female driver had seizure. She was checked out and is reportedly OK.
MERIDIAN -- A van slammed into an empty building in Meridian this morning.
The accident happened just after 9 a.m. near the corner of Meridian Road and Bower Street.
Police say the woman driving the van had a seizure.
"She crossed a lane of traffic did not hit anyone else. There was someone directly behind her that observed the whole thing. She just drove straight from southbound right into the building," said Meridian Police Officer Audra Urie.
Police say the woman was just coming out of the seizure when they got to the scene a minute or two after the crash. Paramedics checked her out and she's fine.
Police will not cite the driver because a medical condition caused the crash, but say she will have to pay for the damage to the building and some road signs.
