BOISE - The man accused of intentionally swerving his pick-up truck into the vehicle of an innocent family on Thursday morning, killing a woman and her young daughter was arraigned in an Ada County courtroom Friday afternoon.

A Magistrate Judge set a bond of $1 million for 50-year-old Alofa Time. Time is facing 2 counts of 2nd degree murder for taking the lives of 36-year-old Samantha Murphy and her 4-year-old daughter Jaelynne in the West Boise crash.

Samantha's 8-year-old daughter, Syndee, was also in the car at the time of the crash, but survived. She is recovering today at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center. Investigators tell us that Time intentionally hit Murphy's vehicle after noticing a police officer was following his truck, in an effort to take his own life.

The severed head of Time's ex-wife, Theresa, was found also at the accident scene and her decapitated body was later discovered at their Nampa home. Time also faces 1st degree murder charges in connection with that death. Time will be extradited to Canyon County for that charge.

A preliminary hearing has been set for June 30th for Alofa Time to appear on the 2nd degree murder charges in Ada County.

The Murphy family released a statement Friday, saying, "Samantha's Murphy's father, Lloyd Puckett and step-mother, Marci Palmer-Puckett want to thank everyone for their prayers, gifts, and concerns. God is in control and we are trusting him completely. We love you All!!"

A fund has been set up for the Sydney and the Murphy family. You can donate at either Summers Funeral Home location, or any Farmers & Merchants State Bank location. For more information on how to help, contact Robin at Summers - 860-1751.
