A judge has ruled that Sawtooth Custom Homes can assemble modular homes in Star's Saddlebrook subdivision.
STAR - An Ada County judge says Sawtooth Custom Homes can assemble modular houses in Star's Saddlebrook subdivision.
Saddlebrook residents blocked trucks delivering two Sawtooth houses on the night of June 6th, sparking a standoff that ended only when Ada County deputies intervened.
The modular homes are built in Sawtooth's facility in Pocatello, but assembled on the homesite.
The Saddlebrook Homeowners Association filed an injunction to stop Sawtooth from assembling the homes, saying the neighborhood's covenants, conditions and restrictions were violated, and the modular homes would lower their property's value.
But today Judge Patrick Owen struck down the motion, allowing construction to continue.
Jon Zentgraf, a spokesman for the company, says they've almost finished assembling the two homes they trucked in last week, and their plans call for about 110 more of their homes to go into the Saddlebrook subdivision.
