Fire crews scramble to put out a fire late Monday night near homes in the Boise foothills near Hidden Springs.
BOISE - A fire in the Foothills late Monday night threatened homes in the Hidden Springs area.
Boise Fire responded to a report of a grass fire in the Foothills just after 11 p.m.
Several agencies responded to the fire that covered about three acres of land. A total of 14 units responded to the fire.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames, and no homes were damaged in the blaze.
Deputy Chief Dave Hanneman tells NewsChannel 7 that they suspect fireworks are to blame for causing the fire.
"There were about 20 or more houses that were exposed and threatened when this started," Hanneman said. "It was a very fast moving fire in very high brush."
The fire torched about three acres in all.
Officials are still on the scene, and monitoring the area.
This is the second foothiils fire in as many nights. A fire near Camels Back Park burned three to four acres Sunday evening.
