July to be hottest recorded in Boise
01:41 PM MDT on Monday, July 30, 2007
BOISE - Breaking news! It was hot in July.
OK, maybe not breaking news – but here’s a tidbit: July 2007 will enter the record books as the hottest ever recorded in Boise. The new record isn’t even close - beating the old mark by a wide margin.
The average daily temperature for July was 83.2 degrees – a whopping 8.6 degrees above normal. The second warmest July on record was just last year – with recorded data going back 141 years to 1864.
The final data for July will be tallied once the month ends tomorrow.
The National Weather Service says a change is in the wind – so to speak. A change in weather pattern is targeted for this weekend or early next week that will bring temperatures back to the average or below-average range.
Boise isn't alone - with Seattle 2.7 degrees above normal, and Portland 2.8 degrees above average.
