BOISE - Gov. Butch Otter declared a disaster emergency in Valley County today – after a series of mudslides sliced and diced the road leading to Yellow Pine.
The declaration makes it easier for local, state and Federal agencies to work together – and helps the groups share costs for the repairs. The declaration also allows the State of Idaho to step in and help with infrastructure repairs, transpiration and other needs
A 300 yard swath of the main road out of Yellow Pine washed away or is covered in debris from storms earlier this month.
Temporary repairs should get a part of the road open by this Thursday.
