BOISE -- A Boise man has been booked into the Ada County Jail after police say he rammed his truck into a man riding a motorcycle.
Boise Police arrested 42-year-old Parker Crumb last night for allegedly driving drunk, crashing into the back of a motorcycle, then attempting to push the motorcycle and it's driver into oncoming traffic.
Crumb is charged with DUI, aggravated battery and leaving the scene of an accident
Officers were called to an injury accident at 8:36 p.m. Monday near the intersection Emerald and Orchard streets. When officers arrived, several witnesses reported seeing a man in a pickup driving fast and recklessly northbound on Orchard. They told officers the driver rear-ended a motorcycle.
A passenger on the motorcycle was able to jump off as the driver of the pickup accelerated, with the motorcycle still stuck to the grill of the truck. He then pushed the bike and it's driver toward oncoming traffic. A Meridian man on the bike was able to jump off just as it crashed on Stanley Street. The driver of the pickup then left the scene.
The man on the motorcycle suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Officers found the front license plate of the truck at the accident scene. And as officers were investigating, they were informed by police dispatchers that the owner of the pickup had just called to report the truck stolen.
Officers made contact with the truck's owner, later identified as Crumb. Officers noticed Crumb smelled strongly of alcohol. After some investigation, officers arrested Crumb.
