BOISE - The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is targeting the Gem State with an infusion of cash - and you could soon see all that green in the glow of your television set.

Documents obtained by the Associated Press show the DCCC has reserved $349,000 worth of ad time in the Boise television market for ads to support Walt Minnick.

Minnick is challenging incumbent Representative Bill Sali in the race.

Across the region, the DCCC has set aside more than $2.5 million in TV time for races in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, according to the Seattle Times.

The non-partisan Cook Political Report that said the seat was safe about a month ago.  Now the seat has moved into the “contested” category according to the group.

Democratic groups are targeting some traditionally-Republican races with extra money and resources in a year where they hope to capitalize on perceived weakness on the part of the GOP.
