Two killed in rollover crash on I-84 after driver falls asleep

BOISE -- Idaho State Police say two people were killed this morning in a rollover accident on Interstate 84.
According to police reports, Craig Walther, 57, from Puyallup, WA, fell asleep while driving a Honda Odyssey eastbound on I-84 at mile marker 201, near the Jerome-Minidoka County line.
His vehicle drifted off the left side of the road, Walther overcorrected and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in the median. The accident happened around 7:52 a.m.
Walther and Allison Vangieson, 28, from St. Clair Shores, Michigan, died at the scene. Vangieson was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Another passenger, Katherine Walther, 54, from Puyallup, WA, and three children were transported to Minidoka Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Katherine Walther and the children were all treated and released with unknown injuries.
Police say Craig and Katherine Walther were wearing seatbelts, and all of the children were restrained in safety seats.
