Trio charged in gang related crimes in Canyon County

Ricardo Espinoza, Fabian Olmeda and Pedro Avalos have been charged in connection with several violent crimes in Canyon County.

CALDWELL -- Several suspects in several violent gang related crimes in Caldwell and Wilder are behind bars.

Investigators have linked Ricardo Espinoza, Fabian Olmeda and Pedro Avalos to cases of attempted murder and arson dating back to July of 2007.    

You may remember some of the crimes including one where a man was shot in the drive-thru at Wendy’s.

Ricardo Espinoza is charged with first-degree attempted murder and aiding and abetting arson.

Fabian Olmeda is charged with aggravated battery and first-degree arson.

Pedro Avalos is serving a sentence in Canyon County Jail for adding and abetting aggravated battery as a juvenile.

The arrests were made after a joint law enforcement investigation that involved Caldwell Police, ATF and FBI agents, Nampa Police, Wilder Police, Canyon County Sheriff's Office and the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office.
