BELOW: Exclusive interview with Ty Pennington

MIDDLETON - Thanks to the help of a TV Show, the Treasure Valley community is coming together to build a Middleton family the home of their dreams.  Extreme Makeover Home Edition its first-ever stop in SW Idaho.

Builders and volunteers will spend the next seven days truly making life a little sweeter for this very deserving family.

“It was just awesome. Just awesome,” the homeowner’s mother Vivian Keisel said. “I don't know how to describe it.  But we heard Ty on his little megaphone, ‘Get up Stockdale family!’ and it was just been a whirlwind since then.”

They came in unannounced, but their message was loud and clear.  The producers and stars of Extreme Makeover Home Edition rolled up to the home of Ryan and Karia Stockdale – taking over to remake the home for the couple and their four children.

“I feel really good about saying to the community, come build a house for the Stockdales,” executive producer Denise Cramsey said. “They need it and they deserve it.”

The Stockdales have experienced their fair share of trials.  Each of their four children suffer from a disease called eosinophilic enteropathy - a rare white blood cell disorder that doesn't allow them to digest food properly.

Today's announcement came as welcome surprise.

“When it happened, (our) emotions ran high,” Ryan Stockdale said. “(I) didn't think it was really true, it was just a dream.”

“It feels like you can breathe for the first time in a long time,” Karia Stockdale said.

Producers said they were looking for builders who could get the job done, and CBH Homes of Boise stepped up to the plate.  Each and every one of their 100 employees will volunteer their time to get the job done.

“We will do it in seven days,” CBH Homes vice president Rhonda Conger said. “We will build 24 hours straight for seven days, starting Friday, is when we'll actually demo the house and start new.”

So far a thousand other volunteers from around Boise have donated their time.

“We think it's great for this family,” lead designer and Extreme Makeover Home Edition host Ty Pennington said. “We think it's great for the community.  It's just fun to be part of something like this in Boise.”

Extreme Makeover Home Edition host Ty Pennington says he's excited about making over a Middleton home.

The Stockdales were chosen from thousands of families who were nominated for the show.  Producers say they're looking for families who truly need help, but who also give back to their communities.

“I think the most amazing part of my job is meeting people who inspire you to do more,” Pennington said.

Ty says he and the rest of the design team are looking forward to the task of building their new home.

“I definitely have a big challenge to design something that's beautiful and pleasant to be in, but also functional and healthy,” Pennington said.

Family members waved goodbye to the Stockdales as they set out for Philadelphia - where they will spend a week with doctors at Children's Hospital.

“To come back to a healthy house, it's going to be a miracle like I said that we could only just think about,” Karia Stockdale’s mother Kathi Lee said

Demolition on the Stockdale house will begin Friday, and then builders will have four days to complete the project.

Idaho’s News Channel will be checking on their progress throughout the week.

The Stockdales will return to their new home next Wednesday.  Their episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition will air on ABC sometime next season.
