A fire at a Middleton retirement community Thursday damaged part of the building.
MIDDLETON - A car fire spread to an assisted living center in Middleton last night.
It happened just before 9:30 p.m. at The Cottages on the 700 block of Main Street.
Firefighters tell us a car was on fire, and then the wind blew the fire to the attic of the building.
All of the damage was on the outside of the building.
They did evacuate some residents, but once the fire was put out they were able to go back into their homes for the night.
Crews are still investigating how the fire started in the car.
