Idaho aims to send more inmates out of state

BOISE - The state's top prison official says more Idaho inmates will be sent to a Texas lockup run by a private company.
That's despite Idaho prisoners at two of that company's other facilities having to be moved twice because of abuse by guards, a suicide, filthy conditions and lack of treatment.
Brent Reinke, Idaho Department of Correction director, plans to ask the state Board of Examiners, including Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter, on Tuesday to let him move more prisoners.
The Idaho prisoners will go to an undisclosed Texas facility run by The GEO Group, a Florida-based private prison company.
