Boise Police got the call around 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon that a white male walked into the Tobacco Connection at 2050 West State Street, pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money.

BOISE--Police say there has been another armed robbery at a Tobacco Connection Store, this time in Boise.

On Thursday, a Tobacco Connection store in Meridian was robbed, and police are now looking to see if the two are connected.

Boise Police got the call around 1:30 p.m. that a white male walked into the Tobacco Connection at 2050 West State Street, pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money.

The clerk was not hurt, but the man did get away with money. Lt. Alan Cavener with the Boise Police Department says the man fled the store on foot. Just two days ago another Tobacco Connection Store was robbed in a similar manner.

"There's no indication that these are related at this time. However I don't personally believe in coincidence, and the fact that these are the same style of businesses is enough to make us wonder. So our detectives will certainly be looking at both of these to see if there are any similarities," said Lt. Alan Cavener, Boise Police Department.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40's or early 50's. The clerk described him as being 5-8 to 6 feet tall. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing an orange and red striped Hawaiian style shirt with a green undershirt and tan shorts. He had brown hair and large sunglasses.

Police want to get this man off the street as soon as possible, saying if he is willing to point a gun at a clerk and rob a store, the chances of him repeating are very high.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
