BOISE--The City of Boise parking services wants to get the word out about free and available motorcycle parking in the downtown area.

The city says there are 19 free on-street parking locations scattered throughout downtown Boise reserved only for motorcycles and scooters.

These spaces contain between two and four stalls each. City employees say the reminder comes at a time when many motorists are trading in their cars for motorcycles because of high gas prices. City employees say it is illegal to park any motor vehicle on sidewalks and violators are subject to a $36 fine.
