Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced they have asked the Idaho Supreme Court to review a battle over their Ketchum home.

KETCHUM - Actor Tom Hanks and his wife are taking their legal dispute with the builder of their multi-million dollar Sun Valley home to Idaho's highest court.

The Forrest Gump star and wife, Rita Wilson, filed an appeal Monday asking the Idaho Supreme Court to review a district judge's decision to reject the couple's bid for arbitration with Storey Construction.

The legal dispute centers around alleged defects at the couple's $10 million home and guest cottages built north of Ketchum in 2002. Hanks and Wilson estimate the faulty workmanship is valued at $2.5 million.

Last month, 5th District Court Judge Robert J. Elgee denied the couple's request for arbitration, ruling the matter was settled in 2004 when an arbitrator awarded $1.85 million to the builder in unpaid contract balance, interest and legal fees.
